Ashok Linganna, MD MSEd is a physician that specializes in managing the care of patients within the hospital. Dr. Linganna is the Director of Medicine Sub-Internship, the Associate Director for UME in Internal Medicine and the Chair of Hospitalist Education Group. He practices at the at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and at the Specialty Hospital at Rittenhouse in the Long-Term Acute Care Hospital. He joined UPHS in 2015 and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine. His interests include undergraduate and graduate medical education, oral presentation skills, wellness and burnout, creating safe and effective learning environments, faculty development, and taking care of complex medical patients.
Dr. Ashok Linganna earned his medical degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia in 2011 and completed his residency as well as a Chief Residency at the University of California, Irvine in 2015. Since joining the University of Pennsylvania, he has received a Master’s Degree of Education at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education with a focus on medical education. He has been an invited speaker locally and nationally to talk about how to create effective learning environments for students, residents, fellows, and attendings. He currently is working to create a novel asynchronous learning environment for students to help their oral presentation skills.
