Dr. Emmanuel King earned his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, completed an internal medicine residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, and joined the Division in 2006.
Dr. King is Associate Division Chief for Recruitment and On-Boarding for the Division of Hospital Medicine, Co-lead Physician-Advanced Medicine Clinical Effectiveness Team/Founders 10-14 Unit Based Clinical Leadership Team, Director-Neurosurgical Co-Management Service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine. He was the former Director of Clinical Operations and Interim Section Chief for Penn Hospital Medicine for many years. He practices at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. Dr. King’s interests include quality and process improvement, patient safety/event reporting, transitions of care, collaborative care models with advanced practice providers, consultative general internal medicine and surgical comanagement. He was inducted into Penn Medicine's Academy of Master Clinicians in 2023.
